Lifetime Plans 'Craigslist Killer' TV Movie

Never one to miss a salacious story -- remember, 'Who is Clark Rockefeller?' came out in March -- Lifetime is moving forward with plans to turn the story of Philip Markoff, dubbed the "Craigslist Killer," into a TV movie.

According to Variety, the project was in development before Markoff killed himself in prison on Aug. 15.

Donald Marktin and Stephen Tolkin are adapting the story with Stephen Kay attached to direct. Sony Pictures TV is set to produce with Judith Verno as an executive producer.
Markoff, a former Boston University graduate student, was accused of killing a woman he met on Craigslist. He was engaged and in medical school when he was arrested in connection to the shooting of Julissa Brisman, accused of robbing a woman in Las Vegas and attacking a stripper. Lifetime sure loves thtose double-life plots.

According to prosecutors in the case, Markoff met the women by answering erotic services ads on Craigslist.
