Jennifer Lopez is 'on the fence' about an 'Idol' return. Three reasons she should stay -- and three reasons she should go.

Seems Jennifer Lopez might not stay on American Idol‘s block for an additional season: During an interview with Scott Mills of BBC Radio 1 (embedded below), the singer/actress/dancer/reality show judge/most beautiful woman in the world said her future with the reality juggernaut is not clear-cut:  “I don’t know,” she told Mills. “I haven’t been forced to make a decision and I’m glad about that because honestly I’m very kind of on the fence about it.” According to Lopez, the star has “a lot of other things happening” — including a new reality project, Q’Viva — and “it’s going to come down to making a choice.”
Well, I’ll admit: I’m on the fence too, Jennifer. Though I enjoyed the singer’s antics throughout the course of the season, the last year has proven that Idol can revolve its panel of judges successfully. So let’s help Lopez out: Here are three reasons why she should stay on Idol, and three reasons why she should exit the Idoldome:
She should stay… because, clearly, the public loves her. Back in April, over 86 percent of you felt that Lopez should stay with Idol for an additional season. She proved to be an emotional mentor for the contestants, and had a larger vocabulary than Randy “in it to win it” Jackson and Steven “beautiful” Tyler. Of course, that was before the judge trampled on a certain contestant’s powerful performances.
She should leave… because after weeks of piercing Haley Reinhart’s soul with inexplicable hate-lasers, only 31 percent of you felt she needed to stick around. The public began clamoring for a judge that would speak the truth, but also criticize fairly. And there were some contestants (cough, Scotty and Lauren!) Lopez couldn’t help but praise, regardless of their performance level.
She should stay… because Idol still remains one of the biggest shows on television. This season, the show delivered record ratings for Fox, and posted the first ratings gain in five years with its finale results show. That means plenty of eyes are on Lopez — and whatever album/product she decides to release in the future.
She should leave… because, still, season 10′s performance finale attracted even fewer viewers than the much-maligned season 9 finale. Though many will turn on their TVs to see numbers from famous folks like Tim McGraw and Lady Gaga during the results finale, perhaps interest in the show — including its judges — have waned.
She should stay… because being left with just the option of Tyler and Jackson has us reeling. Though Lopez was hardly critical of most of the contestants, she was the only judge who attempted to form coherent opinions. She became the nicest Simon Cowell we can imagine — the one on the panel we’d fast-forward past the others to get to.
She should leave… because, quite honestly, Idol could do better. And no one show proved that more than The Voice, which attracted talent like Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, and Cee Lo Green — celebrities that haven’t quite shown they have a critical ear (when are these folks going to channel their inner Simon Cowells?), but at least have proven entertaining enough to carry interesting banter and artistically inclined enough to convince us that they know what they’re talking about. Idol should go younger and fresher, with stars not just looking to get a big payday and ample time to promote themselves. Give us judges who truly care, who are actually, excuse me, in it to win it.

Man guilty of Geoff Kerr murder gets 22 years in jail

A 35-year-old Antrim man found guilty of the April 2009 murder of Geoff Kerr has been sentenced to at least 22 years in jail.
Mr Kerr, who was 60, was shot dead at his home in Templepatrick during an attempted robbery.
Darren K
He had admitted firing the fatal shot, but had claimed he had done so accidentally during a struggle with the victim.
His accomplice Martin Fleming, 51, from Churchill Road in Larne was told he will serve at least 16 years of his life term in jail before even being considered for release on licence.
The judge told Fleming he was giving him a discount because he was a secondary party to the killing and because he had pleaded guilty.
Mother and daughter Margaret Deery, 63, and Siobhan Clyde, 34, both from Willowtree Park in Newtownabbey, who admitted charges of perverting the course of justice in relation to the killing, were each handed 12 month jail terms which were suspended for two years.
Mr Justice Hart handed the same term to Laurence Desmond Kincaid, 60, from the Upper Hightown Road in Newtownabbey, who pleaded guilty to withholding information about the murder.
The judge said he was satisfied that contrary to his assertions during the trial, Kernohan had "shown no remorse whatever throughout these events".
"He refused to answer questions during interview and it was only when it was clear that the DNA evidence linked him to the scene that he constructed this lying account, as the jury has found it to be, to explain his actions," Mr Justice Hart said.
"I consider that there are no mitigating factors and that in view of the aggravating factors to which I have already referred the appropriate minimum term which he must serve before he can be considered for release is one of 22 years imprisonmenternohan, 35, of Moss Drive, was given a life sentence last month.

And Your New American Idol Is...

It was pretty obvious--after three consecutive seasons of cute, guitar-strumming male "Idol" winners--that the "American Idol" powers-that-be wanted a female champion this season. And in finalist Lauren Alaina, a girl that judge Steve Tyler declared "The One" after her very first audition--they had a very strong contender. Many fans actually thought she did better than Scotty on Tuesday's final showdown. But even Lauren, a likable girl next door in the Clarkson/Underwood/Sparks mold, could not break the girls' dry spell on this show. Yes, baby lock them doors and turn the lights down low, because it's just been announced that, despite all of the show's blatant Lauren pimping this week...Scotty McCreery is the tenth American Idol.
This is hardly an upset, of course. Lauren was a season-long favorite of both the judges and viewers, but if there was anyone who seemed even more of a shoo-in than her, it was Scotty. Unlike Lauren, he'd never been in the bottom three before, and the boy seemed to be coated in Teflon no matter what he did. He forgot the words to one of his songs during Hollywood Week, was peripherally involved in the Hollywood Week bullying of Jacee Badeaux that ended up ruining Clint Gamboa's chances, and delivered similar live performances week after week without the judges ever encouraging him to mix it up...and he got a free pass every time. Scotty was simply unstoppable. It almost seemed like his ascendance to the "Idol" throne was pre-ordained, since he was glowingly mentioned in some of producer Nigel Lythgoe's promotional interviews before Season 10 even began.

It's also not a huge surprise that Scotty won considering that, while he hardly had the stronger voice of these two (Lauren was one of this season's best singers), he was the better all-around entertainer. Scotty always projected a certain unshakable confidence that Lauren sadly seemed to lose after her stellar first audition, as the pressures of live competition clearly got to her. Lauren's confidence probably received another big blow when she lost this week, but she may be better off coming in second and having a little more luxury of time to mature outside of the "Idol" bubble. But now, of course, the real work begins, for both contestants. While Scotty is "Idol's" first male country winner--which, to be fair, differentiates him from previous male winners Lee DeWyze, Kris Allen, and David Cook--it's unclear whether the country world will accept him (Stark Radio posted a surprising report about country radio programmers already snubbing him), or if, at such a young age, he will be able to establish an identity outside of the country stars he sometimes imitates (like Josh Turner). Meanwhile, Lauren, who obviously wanted to win badly (she actually used to entertain her relatives by pretending to perform on "American Idol" as a little girl), and had trouble concealing her girlish disappointment when she came in second, may end up victorious in the long run; considering that her pop-country style has more crossover potential than Scotty's more old-school, hat-act style, she could sell more records when she inevitably lands her own record deal. (It should be noted that the last two "Idol" runners-up outsold their respective seasons' winners.)
However, both contestants are very young and have a lot of growing up to do, and now they'll be growing up on the road and in the studio. So let's hope Interscope and 19 Entertainment surround them with the right people.
Do you think viewers elected the right American Idol? And who do you think will ultimately be more successful, sales-wise? Let me know on the message board below.

DANCING WITH THE STARS

It was the first time in several seasons that there was no lone frontrunner leading into the "Dancing with the Stars" final, but after 10 weeks of competition, one team has emerged as the winners of the mirrorball.
He missed out on a Super Bowl ring back in February, but with the help of professional dancer Kym Johnson, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward now has a mirrorball for his trophy shelf.

"Starting this competition, I never thought I'd be in the finals, but I owe it all to Kym. She's an amazing teacher," a humbled Hines said after learning the news that he and his partner beat out Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy for the top spot.
Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas took third, as they were the first team eliminated on Tuesday's finale.

Hines thanked the judges for their constructive criticism over the weeks, but also threw his gratitude to the football fans back in Pittsburgh.
"We love Steeler Nation, Bulldog Nation (University of Georgia)... I hope I represented well," he said.

Kirstie, who took second, reflected on her journey, telling co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke, "Dancing" was a special time in her life.
"It's like the most extraordinary adventure I've ever been on in my life and I want to thank Maks," she said turning to the newly tamed ballroom bad boy. "I love Maks."

"It's been a special season," Maks responded. "But I don't only have words for Kirstie, I have words for the previous nine partners I had because this is [the] 10th trophy that I got and thank you for this, this has been an amazing, amazing season."
Hines and Kym beat Kirstie and Maks to the top spot based on a 50 percent weight given to the viewer votes, and the other half to the judges' scores.
Before the winners were named, there was one additional round that pushed Hines and Kym over the top.
Performing their favorite dance from the season for just judges' scores, Hines and Kym opted for their Steelers-inspired samba, which received a perfect 30 out of 30.
"You bring every dance to life," head judge Len Goodman raved.
Kirstie too left an impression with her favorite dance - re-doing her opening night cha cha with Maks, in the same outfit she danced in back in March.
"I think it'll be fun to show the fans and the judges that my dress is half the size it was in week 1," she said in the clip package before the number, adding, "This journey has been beyond what I ever thought this journey would be."
The number actually earned the pair their very first perfect score of the season from the panel.
"Kirstie, you cheeky girl, you saved the best for last," judge Bruno Tonioli said. "You've never danced better. Brilliant."
Kym's win with Hines now makes the Australian professional dancer a two-time winner. She previously won in Season 9 with Donny Osmond.
This season, though, was an emotional ride.
While the pair proved they were contenders from the start, they hit a major setback during the week leading up to the semifinals late last month, when Kym was injured as the pair rehearsed a series of flips.
The incident, which saw Hines - and all of his football playing body weight - land on top of Kym, pressing her neck into the ground beneath him, sent her to the hospital and caused a sprain in her neck.
But it could have been much worse.
Although the two performed just days later, on Monday, May 16, netting two perfect scores from the judges, Hines was moved to tears, later telling Access Hollywood that Kym's recovery moved him greatly.
"I try not to watch the replay, but I caught the second part of it -- I didn't know they was going to replay it like that and I really got sick to my stomach," Hines told Access after the show in mid-May. "I was really emotional because, you know, we just did our dance and I was just happy that she's dancing again.
"It really didn't matter about the scores. You have to put things in perspective -- we're in it to win it, but at the same time, I'm glad that she's standing and doing something that she's loved to do over again, so I'm very happy," he added.

A Mom Outsmarts BOTOX Doctors With Her $4 Trick to a Wrinkle Free Face

Emily, a local mom of three, is the perfect example of a smart consumer using the web to get quality products for a low cost. Emily was admittedly a bit overwhelmed by her hectic life and had had given up on spending time on herself and her needs. Emily decided to change her life, and recently discovered a clever way of combining two beauty product trials from a trusted company OVVIO Anti-Aging Serum & Bellaplex to unlock the secrets of anti-aging. Her results are comparable to what you might attain at Medi Spas and Doctors offices for $2000 or more, all the while using nothing but free trial offers.
Emily thought it was important to share her story with you. This trick has not only removed her wrinkles, but also tightened her neck and face instantly. It changed her life and I hope it can change yours too.
Emily, who makes an average salary, doesn't have the extra cash to try every celebrity endorsed Anti-Aging miracle cream out there let alone splurge on expensive medical procedures. At one time she did considered taking out loans for injecting Botox and even contemplated getting a facelift, but became frightened after researching Botox and face lift malpractice stories. Emily was determined to find a safe and AFFORDABLE solution that would yield real results and not leave her in debt.

DOG AND DUCK KISS

Interspecies play gets us every time, and today is no different.

Pit bulls too often get a bad rap, but if every person wary of owning a pit were to watch this video of one of them canoodling with a baby duckling, it might change a lot of minds.

I mean, look at the way the duckling touches the dog's nose! How can you not want both?

Record deal for Pia Toscano?

Pia Toscano's early "American Idol" elimination may have been a blessing in disguise. The overnight singing sensation has been offered a recording contract by Interscope Records, according to Us Weekly.
A source told the mag that the label "starting [Thursday] night right after the show, Interscope told her they wanted her, and first thing [Friday] morning, Interscope started calling every top songwriter and producer in town to get an album together and rush release it." "Idol" mentor Jimmy Iovine is chairman of Interscope.
Bing: Pia Toscano had 'weird feeling' she was going home

Has Pia signed on the dotted line yet? The source said, "Papers are being finalized. It's basically a done deal. She's signing. They rushed everything, but she's so excited."
Pia's elimination caught America off guard, but executive producer Nigel Lythgoe was not taken by surprise. He told Yahoo, "I know the [voting] results, so I know she was never a front-runner."
More: How to fix the 'American Idol' voting problem
To avoid such upsets in future "Idol" seasons, Nigel said they'll consider tweaking the show's format. Using the model of his other reality competition "So You Think You Can Dance," "America votes for the bottom three, and then the judges decide who goes home. I think that will be thought about," he said.
The "American Idol" contestants still campaigning for the title will sing another tune Wednesday night on FOX.

Sheen, who (until recently) starred in the hit CBS comedy, is lauded as the highest paid television actor, reportedly making close to $2 million an episode.

Those paydays, however, are now long gone, according to CBS. The network released a statement Friday evening announcing it had halted production on the sitcom for the remainder of the season.

"Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of 'Two and a Half Men' for the remainder of the season," the network said in a statement, first reported by TMZ.

Sheen fired back, claiming he's clean of all drugs.

"Look at me, duh ... drug tests don't lie. The scoreboard doesn't lie," he said.

Sheen said that boredom led him to alcohol and drugs. He has also voiced his distaste with Alcoholics Anonymous and said he overcame his addiction problems himself.

"I closed my eyes and made it so with the power of my mind," he said of his new sobriety. The actor completed treatment with an at-home "crisis management center," which he dubbed the "Sober Valley Lodge."

"It's primary patient achieved radical success," he said with a grin, adding that he's not concerned about relapsing. Sheen labeled those who relapse as "trolls" and "weak."

He also claims he'll not pass up a glass a champagne when celebrating, but has "no interest in cocaine."

And as for continuing his Hollywood career, Sheen said he wants to continue working in TV and movies, hinting that the world has yet to see his best work.

"Come on, bro, I won best picture at 20. I wasn't even trying," he said, adding that he'll continue to work on 'Men,' but not without some more pointed comments aimed at show runner Chuck Lorre over the status of the show's scripts and the fate of the cast and crew.

After spewing out direct questions to Lorre -- including "Why is it that when I was ready to return to work, you told me there were no scripts ready to shoot?" -- Sheen read a passage from the AA Handbook about acceptance.

"Accept me, Chuck," Sheen said.

Sheen's rants toward Lorre -- including an alleged anti-Semitic remark -- and his recent radio interviews bashing CBS led to the network's decision to halt production on 'Men.'

The second half of Sheen's 'Today' interview airs Tuesday morning on NBC.
